Roll up, roll up! Come a little closer; don’t be afraid! Witness this unique attraction for our times! Experience this unique freak show direct from LOLITA KOMPLEX’s cabinet of curios!

This is what you would likely hear were the mysterious figures from this rock/cabaret quintet to enter the circus ring. With their unique mixture of goth, rock and metal, blended with Japanese visual kei elements, the Austrians spectacularly succeed in performing a musical balancing act that opens up a complete new spectrum of rock music.

That this work of art succeeds should hardly be a surprise, as the band members in this bizarre collection of curios count experienced musicians among their number, in the form of Eve Evangel and Dushi. The musical acrobats had already succeeded in achieving cult status with the legendary gothic rock band SANGUIS ET CINIS; a status that still lives on today.

But those who are content to rest on the laurels of times past must one day fade away. Pursuing a new path with LOLITA KOMPLEX was therefore a logical conclusion. This travelling circus has already played numerous live shows, including as headliner of the visual kei event at the renowned gothic festival, Wave Gotik Treffen, which takes place every year in Leipzig, Germany. But as if that wasn’t enough, the circus also stopped off in Japan, where they gave their very best in a number of shows, including in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto.

Following their 2011 debut album, ‘Le Cabaret des Marionnettes’, on which LOLITA KOMPLEX worked with the Japanese post-punk legend Madame Edwarda, they now position themselves ready for the triple somersault: ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’ promises spectacular feats and an unparalleled entertainment factor!

‘The Greatest Show on Earth’ comprises 13 new works of art that LOLITA KOMPLEX present to us in a lavishly designed digipak, which also includes a booklet featuring the spectacular illustrations of award-winning anime artist Gina Wetzel. As well as having a spoken intro by Nigel Barber (Mission: Impossible and James Bond), a number of other artists were invited to guest on the album, and so help create an unforgettable listening experience for the eager and willing public. These include Mike Kelly from cult band THE MISSION and Alexander Kaschte from SAMSAS TRAUM/WEENA MORLOCH. But as if that’s not enough: with the inclusion of an exclusive ILLUMINATE cover version created especially for this release, the album is therefore augmented by a further attraction, which rounds off the colourful collection of miscellany that our circus troupe has to offer.

So the show goes on: lean back, trust your ears and eyes and allow yourself to be captivated by an unparalleled evening at the circus with LOLITA KOMPLEX!
