December 2011: Angels On Acid

In 2003, Michael Banks created a band that would draw from more styles of music than most bands would ever encompass. His creation would present a powerful harmony in its fusion of EBM, industrial metal, and psytrance. The addition of Omen and J3551C4 were the perfect compliments to Michael's style. Their unique direction in music has had many labels, but all know it for the band that these three represent, Angels On Acid.

Angels On Acid has been one of the few bands that has not only developed a style that stands out, but also has made each of their songs distinct. This is very profound, since most innovative bands have a hard time keeping their identity intact while pushing music in a new direction. This lack of stability can result in over compensation in the new style and can result in redundant songs. Angels On Acid is one of the very rare cases that has made a new path for music while setting a quality standard for this new style. For music sets, this typically makes Angels On Acid's music stand out in a faster paced set that is ideal for radio, clubs, and even raves.

New bands usually emulate a successful band or cling to an existing style of music. Angels On Acid can still be viewed as a new band in terms of exposure, but not in their music. They have presented a high level of professionalism that can rival many of the top tier bands in the market today. Of the bands that are not well known, this is one band I will always recommend.
